The busy crossroad of Nevsky, Vladimirsky and Liteyny avenues has been always well known in Petersburg - Leningrad by their restaurants, hotels, shops and cinemas.

Here, at the corner of Nevsky and Vladimirsky, in the popular Soviet cinema "Titan", in March 1995 the casino - club "Premier" was opened, that became famous because of its cozy restaurant, that inherited at a great extent the unique club spirit of "Palkin". Legendary "Palkin", the star of the capital restaurant business of the pre-revolutionary Nevsky, was situated in the same house 47/1 until 1917.

Distinctive feature of the modern "Palkin" is a unique atmosphere, which restaurant critics called "truly Petersburg's". Empire buffet, mirrors, candles, flowers, white piano, irreproachable service and excellent cuisine won over the old and new elite to the restaurant without any advertising.

The modern "Palkin", opened in the beginning of the summer 2002, inherited the aspiration of "being always in the center of the artistic life in St. Petersburg". That's why, by tradition, the present owners of "Palkin" opened in one of the halls an artistic gallery, calling it for its elegance  "Drawing-room of Arts".
